2nd Congress of Indonesian Diaspora

Congress of Indonesia Diaspora is an event aims to inspire Indonesian diaspora communities to connect and to unite themselves into one big community and create a tangible force in order to achieve a better Indonesia. The event also aims to foster and implement concrete initiatives to empower Indonesian communities worldwide. CID will be a landmark event that can create a paradigm shift in what it means to be part of the Indonesian Diaspora in the 21st century. In the past, they have primarily focused on the role of Indonesian migrant workers, who remain an essential part of the Indonesian Diaspora, but do not reflect the full and diverse spectrum of the Indonesian Diaspora across the globe.

I attended the Charity Gala Dinner on Sunday, August 18, 2013 a couple of days ago of which they served us the fine Indonesian cuisine as fund-raising initiative for Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN), Business Council (IDBC), and Foundation (IDF), presented by the Culinary Task Forced IDN featuring ten world class participant chefs.

The special dinner menu entree - Squid ink lasagna of Indonesian crab meat
Entree - Ocean Trout with spicy & satay peanut sauce
Main - Lamb rib tagine with tongseng sauce
Main - Fillet, cheek of wagyu beef braised with rendang sauce
Dessert - Chocolate brownie with fresh Indonesian mangoes

I uploaded some of the videos I took with my iphone on my youtube account :
